Street Foodz Naija Season 6 Bootcamp: Building the Next Generation of Street Food Entrepreneurs

The much-anticipated Street Foodz Naija Season 6 has officially kicked off with an intensive and inspiring bootcamp that gathered selected contestants from across Nigeria. Organized by FoodBayTV, this year’s edition of the show promises not only entertainment but also deep education and transformation for the contestants.

The bootcamp served as the perfect foundation for contestants to learn vital business, branding, and entrepreneurial skills that will help them thrive in and beyond the competition.

According to him, a strong personal brand is what transforms a vendor into a recognizable foodpreneur with loyal followers.

Adding even more depth to the discussions on branding, Ita Bassey, a seasoned brand communicator with Nigerian Breweries, delivered a captivating session on Branding a Successful Foodpreneur. He shared strategies on how food entrepreneurs can build brands that connect emotionally with customers and remain consistent across all touchpoints. His insights highlighted the importance of authenticity, storytelling, and differentiation, helping contestants see that branding goes far beyond a name or a logo.

Legal knowledge was not left out of the bootcamp. Barrister Kunle Idowu delivered a highly practical and enlightening session on Understanding the Legal Framework for Street Food Entrepreneurs – Building Correct Hustle. He explained the essential legal steps every vendor should take to structure and protect their businesses, from business registration under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and compliance with local food permits, to Lagos Food Safety certifications and NAFDAC approvals where applicable. He also discussed contracts, vendor agreements, intellectual property rights, and basic tax obligations such as TIN registration, personal income tax, and VAT. His message was clear: success in the street food business requires not just passion but also legal responsibility and structure.

To round off the series of impactful sessions, Courage Obayuwana, the Director of Street Foodz Naija, gave a heartfelt address to the contestants. Entering the room with music and excitement, he immediately lit up the atmosphere and reminded everyone why they were there — to learn, grow, and compete. His message encouraged contestants to broaden their horizons, explore new cuisines, and master the art of plating and presentation. He emphasized the importance of elevating street food to meet global standards while reminding them that although they may be friends, they are also competitors. His address was both motivational and grounding, leaving the contestants inspired and ready for the challenges ahead.

Throughout the bootcamp, it became clear that Street Foodz Naija is more than a competition — it is a platform for empowerment.
