We’re preserving culture and going back to the local communities to meet the custodians, and learn the original and old recipes.

Some meals are indigenous to some tribes and geographical regions, and there’s usually a wealth of difference in how the custodians of the meal’s recipe makes it, and how others make it. In Africana, journey through different tribes, learning the story and cultures behind their cultural dishes, the non-shortcut methods to make the dishes, why the old ways must be entirely discarded, and of course, the right techniques and blends of spices and ingredients that give the dish its unique identity.

Africana is the show that bridges the gap between the older generation and the young, and helps preserve the culinary culture and dishes that make up our food heritage while the few available custodians can still share the secrets.
