Emmanuella Oziofu, a pupil of Fortune Schools in Benin, Edo State has developed a food website set to launch this February.
The website which is simply named ‘Food Website’ was created to urge people to eat healthier and cut down on junk food. Speaking at her birthday celebration earlier this month, Oziofu said, “one of the contents of the website is Goodbye Junk Food, Hello Super Healthy Food, which contains African dishes, continental dishes and a list of restaurants in different cities in the world.”
She began her foray into the world of ICT at age seven. “At seven, I enrolled at Mikon Institute of Information Technology where I graduated with a certificate in Basic Training, with this I specialised in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. I also have a certificate in Desktop Publishing, Advance Power Point, Advance Excel, Corel Draw and Adobe Page Maker.”
Oziofu, who is currently studying web design at Complete Computer Technology Centre in Benin acknowledged her supportive parents for their push “hard work and support from my parents helped me achieve the feat and I am encouraging children to embrace ICT as a tool for national development”
Regarding future plans, shared ‘I want to be a gynaecologist in future and I believe my knowledge of ICT will enable me practice my profession better, make me more innovative and render quality health care service.”
Mr Osamudiamen, her tutor said Oziofu is an ever ready-to learn child and he described her love for ICT as incredible. He also urged parents and government to create an enabling environment for Nigerian children so that like their counterparts in developed countries like China, they can perform well.
